Christie Makar studied law at the University of Jos and obtained a Masters in Business Administration from the Ahmadu Bello University. She is a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria., a Notary Public and a Member of the Business Recovery & Insolvency Practitioners of Nigeria.

She Christie Makar worked with the legacy Savannah Bank Plc where she was the Deputy Head of legal services of the North-Central Regional Office overseeing the provision of legal advisory services to over thirty branches of the Bank.  She has had extensive legal practice dating back to the late 1990s.   

Her areas of expertise include banking laws, corporate secretarial services, insolvency practice and real estate management. She was the Federal Government of Nigeria appointed Liquidator over Process and Industrial Development Limited.
